A polarized poll

It seems a shame we can’t tip it even more strongly in a sensible direction. Or can we?

How do you feel about allowing same-sex marriage?

Strongly in favour of it 57%

Don’t feel strongly but lean towards supporting it 4%

Don’t feel strongly but lean towards opposing it 1%

Strongly opposed to it 38%

I’ve noticed lately that people sending me polls are sending me ones that are already pre-skewed in the right direction. Are atheists just automatically bombing polls even without my suggestion?

I’m absolutely pro-same-sex marriage but where I put my foot down is in the spelling of favor as favour. If god had wanted it spelt that way, he would of put in the bible that way, in ‘murican English!

Why would someone who didn’t have strong feelings about marriage equality bother to vote in a poll like this? It’s pre-pharyngulated.

It seems awfully cruel to me to oppose something that costs me nothing and offers comfort to others. Opposing someone’s happiness does not sound very christian, but then neither does christianity as it is practised by most so-called christians.

I’m still waiting for a concrete reason why the Redhead’s cousin marrying his long time partner hurts the marriage of the Redhead and myself. All I hear is panicked and irrational idiocy from the religious…

I don’t believe anybody should be married to the state..

States can get married to human individuals now?

Wonder how that works, Columbia is (not so?) surely a female state but what about Arizona and Texas are they male or a female otr what?

Still I suppose there is historical precedent seeing as Queen Elizabeth I married her nation of Elizabethan England.

(Does that make modern Britain a widower?)

Given the wording of the poll I had to choose “Don’t feel strongly but lean towards supporting it”.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s not that I’m in any way against Gay marriage. It’s just that I’m not exactly pro marriage at all. I kinda agree with Penn Jillettes position, why do we need government approval and permission to love someone? But as long as there is such a thing as marriage then it must be available to everyone and anyone.
