Owls eat squirrels, which naturally makes them my favorite bird EVER. A Superb owl was hanging out in Central Park last week – the first sighting of one here in 130 years. Unfortunately other raptors have claimed the park as their personal territory, and chased her away. For some reason the Smithsonian article doesn’t mention it, but these were obviously Republican raptors: will not share resources, even while they enjoy an overabundance of more than they could ever possibly use themselves.
