This poor beetle was probably just minding his own business before a gigantic flying terror swooped down, stabbed him with its proboscis, and started digesting his insides.

This was in Gorges State Park, North Carolina last month. I thought it was a bumblebee or carpenter bee when it first landed on me, but then I noticed the beetle.
