A young Oklahoma mother shot and killed an intruder to protect her 3-month-old baby on New Year’s Eve, less than a week after the baby’s father died of cancer.
I’ve lost friends to gun accidents, but there’s no way in hell I would oppose this woman’s actions.
“I wouldn’t have done it, but it was my son,” McKinley told ABC News Oklahoma City affiliate KOCO. “It’s not an easy decision to make, but it was either going to be him or my son. And it wasn’t going to be my son. There’s nothing more dangerous than a woman with a child.”
If the scientific method uses senses, which are flawed,
Then the scientists who use it, when they poke their fun at God,
Have no guarantee of certainty, and so they might be wrong
Which is what religious faithful have been saying all along.
Religion studies subjects, though, which no one has observed,
There’s no observation bias, thus the truth is better served!
Since they can’t believe their measurements, the scientists are lost—
So the whole of modern science, why it might as well be tossed!
Yes, tomorrow they could tell us that they’ve found they got it wrong,
Cos the solar system’s center was our planet all along!
Since scientists are human, they have all the human flaws
So religion is a better way… because!

Evolution is offensive, cos it tells us we’ve evolved,
From a monkey, from a lungfish, from a worm!
Now New Hampshire’s Gary Hopper think’s he’s got the problem solved
So we’re doing something differently this term.
He’d require science teachers, when they’re speaking to their class,
To instruct them not to stick with any theory—
Cos today it’s evolution, but tomorrow that will pass—
All this change in science makes a man grow weary
We should teach the controversy! There are several points of view!
Evolution’s merely one belief in many!
There’s alternatives aplenty, like creationism, too,
If we’re lucky, then we won’t have time for any!
While we’re at it, let’s see challenges to gravity as well,
And the theory that the earth is truly round
And the notion of a “molecule”, an “atom”, or a “cell”,
Throughout science, we see challenges are found!
While the scientists will tell us that one theory is the best
There are others they consider not so nice
Which the children should attend to, thanks to Hopper’s new request
And New Hampshire’s reputation pays the price
The voting public changes hearts
Like tossing dice or throwing darts;
The candidates who join this dance,
Who studiously act their parts
Can’t see this isn’t real romance
But merely just the whims of chance
The process seems to be designed
To favor those who change their minds
Depending on some small demand—
It’s not a rarity to find
A vote because of shaken hand,
Or baby kissed, or pamphlet scanned
It’s claimed that early states can play
A greater role, because they pay
Attention to the things they ought,
And (so the states’ supporters say)
They give the issues proper thought,
Legitimizing battles fought
But looking at the polls this year
No candidate is breaking clear
So… Are these voters unaware?
Or might it be, as some may fear,
No candidate campaigning there
Has done enough to make them care.

Thinking Like an Atheist

In three easy steps:
1- Lump all Christians together into one massive Borg-ish collective.
2- When one or a tiny minority of the collective does something stupid- attribute that stupidity to all.
3- Mock the entirety of Christianity.Like this chap has done-
So, if Christians were actually lame and unintelligent enough to adopt atheistic reasoning we could
1- Hear of some atheist or atheists who were child molesters.
2- Denounce all atheists as child molesters, since they all clearly share the same exact mentality.
3- And mock all of atheism.Except Christians are too smart to act that way. It’s a shame that the ‘reason exalting’ atheists exemplified by the clearly angry atheist lad above in his feckless ‘tweet’ aren’t as smart.
On the other hand, it could have gone:
1- read one atheist’s twitter admonition to some Christians making threats of violence.
2- denounce all atheists as “Lump[ing] all Christians together into one massive Borg-ish collection”
3- and mock all of atheism.
Now, I know full well that not all Christians think that way.
But I know one who does.
