Don’t Ask Me Why

Cos I’ll tell you before you ask: This video would never have been on my radar at all, except that Cuttledaughter shared a stage with one of the actors (more than once, actually) many years ago. But because of that, I was shown this video a couple of years ago… and recent political events (both in the positive and in the negative) have put this song in my head in recent days. After the fold (and, seriously, some major trigger warnings for all sorts of bigotry):

If you didn’t watch… dammit, go back and watch! You can thank me later.

Well, yeah, the beginning is… I certainly hope you don’t think the end was, or I’ll be very disappointed.

  2. John Morales says

Sorry, Cuttlefish. You’re to be disappointed, because I gave up just after the football (?) player got beat-up in the locker-room. I’m not that strong.

(My failure, I know. I couldn’t get through Schindler’s List, either)

  3. Cuttlefish says

Jesus Fucke, Schindler’s list is not unlike a double kidney transplant. Sorry I gave you this to watch. The ending, I promise, tries its best to be optimistic. Given what it wants to overcome, it’s still not exactly cheerful.

My apologies, John Morales, for not including trigger warnings. I think, on reflection, they might have been called for.

Well, that was a tearjerker, a powerful and sensitive message of love and optimism in the end. Thanks for sharing it. Humanity will be better off once it accepts non-traditional forms of love. Love in any mix is better than hate and violence.
