Does anyone know what font it is that my banner is in? The “The Digital Cuttlefish” part, not the verse. It is not one I have seen anywhere but here, and I’m not the one who put my banner together, either here or at the old place.
It is not in any way an urgent question; I’m not planning to use it on anything. I’m just curious, and have wondered, off and on, for years.
Closest I’ve stumbled across is “AF Champ Fleury”. Still not exactly it, though :/

Ok, now, just how did you know what to look for?

Fonts are usually grouped by type (Arial, Gothic, etc.) and some sites keep lists.
WhatTheFont [ http://www.myfonts.com/WhatTheFont/ ] is a webpage to which you upload an image of some text in a mysterious font. The website offers its best guess as to which part(s) of the image are which character(s); you confirm/correct those guesses; the website then tells you its best guesses about what font it is.
If you want your gratification to be a bit closer to instant, Identifont [ http://www.identifont.com/ ] basically plays Twenty Questions—”Does the font have serifs?” “What’s the shape of the bottom loop of a lowercase ‘g’?” etc—and in that way zeroes in on fonts which are pretty close to what you’ve got, and can often be the actual font.
Alas, neither of the above websites was able to ID your logo-font, Cuttlefish. C’est la vie. After looking at Roman Grid Caps, however, I agree with ibbica; RGC is exactly and precisely the font your logo is set in.

Haha! Thank you for asking this “dumb question”, dear Cuttlefish! I have also been trying to identify a font on something for several years (I wanted to have t-shirts printed with the thing for gifts for my family) and had no idea how to find out. Thanks to commenters who provided the useful links!
