He’s a tool, he’s a fool, he’s a chump
He’s the hairpiece with feet, Donald Trump.
The Donald’s a birther—
A modern flat-earther
And clearly as dumb as a stump

Headline: Blitzer and Trump go at it over Trumps ‘birther’ claims

On CNN’s “The Situation Room” Tuesday, Trump maintained that Obama’s birthplace is a matter of opinion, rather than fact.

“Everybody’s entitled to your opinion,” he said. “You know my opinion and you know his opinion and that’s fine. We’re entitled – as he said yesterday in the airplane – we’re all entitled to our opinions and he’s entitled to have his opinion. I don’t happen to share that opinion, it’s wonderful.”

Blitzer presented Trump with newspaper announcements of Obama’s birth from 1961.

Trump interrupted, “Can you stop defending Obama?”

“Donald, you’re beginning to sound a little ridiculous, I have to tell you,” Blitzer replied.

I’m crushing on Wolf just a little right now.

Of course everyone is entitled to his (gendered pronoun used on purpose) own opinion — opinions are a lot like assholes: everyone has one and most are full of shit. But no one is entitled to his own facts.

Ah yes, the old “Every one’s entitled to their own opinion” line; the last desperate cry from someone who has clearly lost an argument.
Years ago, I read in the comic strip *Fraz* the perfect rejoinder for that: “An opinion is supposed to be the result of critical thinking; not a substitute for it.”
The movie *Team America: World Police* also had an appropriate line: “Why is everybody so fucking stupid?”

Donald seems to get the opinion part down correctly, but he clearly does not seem to understand that he is not entitled to his own facts. The facts are the facts Donald…you can believe whatever nonsensical opinion you want, but do not expect anyone else to respect it…

As HHH once remarked, everyone is entitle to an opinion but no one is entitled to be taken seriously.

When it starts costing him money on his investments, Trump will be sensible on the issue.

And that point will be when the networks stop giving him free airtime and start charging him for publicity instead.
