Politicians, of course, serve us shit,
Since they’re lacking in substance or wit–
Still, I just have to smile
When I read of the pile
That is Rudy’s endorsement of Mitt
Headline: Giuliani endorses Mitt Romney, shelving animosity
There’s nothing sweeter than watching former foes bow to the inevitability of politics.
“I think that Mitt has won fair and square,” Giuliani said during an interview Monday morning on Fox News. “He’s proven he’s the most effective Republican, he’s taken on everybody and won an incredible number of primaries, and he’s got the resume and background for the job…. Who better than Mitt Romney to carry our banner?”
“Seriously, I’m asking… anyone? Anyone?” the desperate Rudy wailed….

I know who Rudy was thinking of when he asked this question.

“He’s proven he’s the most effective Republican.”
Talk about damning with faint praise!
The people who really need to speak up are the moderate Republicans. (And yes, they are out there; millions of them.) They have to take their party back from their own extremists. I’m hoping the whole cluster-fuck that was the Republican nomination (and the election yet to come) will inspire reasonable Republicans to say “WTF? Is this really the best we can do?!”

I agree with carpenterman. The Republicans need to move back towards the center at this point. The insanity needs to stop. They need to realize that the extremist on the Right, will still vote for them, and probably show up to the polls in decent numbers just to ensure the Dems don’t win. The extremist nature of the Republican Part is really embarrassing…for all of us. I may not be a Republican, but am embarrassed that one of the two political parties in this country is such a shit-show.
