By chance of birth
We’re here on Earth,
More lucky than we know
With such a brain
As can explain
The way these things must go
That life began
Not with a man
Named Adam, and his Eve
But molecules
In tidal pools
That replicate and cleave
To replicate
It is their fate
And thus to reproduce
The Earth revolves
And life evolves
And all this, we deduce
Recycled star
Is what we are
With everything we see
This view of things
Amazement brings
At least, it does to me
Some future day
I know we may
Be swallowed by the sun
For what it’s worth
Protect the Earth–
We’ve only got the one.

Hey, is there an RSS feed for your blog? I couldn’t find one.

Yikes, I forgot it was Earth Day! I’ll go out and do something earthy.
Cuttlefish says
@DarnHeretic–I blush to admit that I honestly don’t even know how one would set that up. I know that someone over on stumbleupon has set up a feed of some sort, but it was Chinese to me (Greek would have been easier). If any of you reading can enlighten me as to how to set up an RSS feed, please do so; whatever I need to do, I am willing. (I think that Pharyngula’s blogroll has me in RSS form, if that helps.)

I found a site that will generate a feed for your blog (feedburner.com)! It’s at this link. It looks pretty easy to make one using this. :)http://www.google.com/support/feedburner/bin/answer.py?answer=78465&topic=13251

I should clarify, those are the easy to follow directions hosted by google for feedburner.com… Enjoy!
Cuttlefish says
Hmmm…. On step two, feedburner identified two feed sources already existing–one on Atom, one RSS. I am going to hold off on claiming either of those, simply out of polite ignorance–if someone reading this is the creator of either or both of those, would I be doing you any harm by claiming them? I assume not, but I know that I do not know. I will give it a couple of days, most likely. But, DarnHeretic, if you can find either of those, it would appear that they answer your opening comment/question.
DARNheretic says
Yeah, that second link works! (below)http://digitalcuttlefish.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default?alt=rssYou might want to place a link to it on your main page. :D

Cuttlefish, amazing! I have nothing that can compare. Except maybe Monty Python’s Galaxy Song … Just remember that you’re standing on a planet that’s evolvingAnd revolving at nine hundred miles an hour,That’s orbiting at nineteen miles a second, so it’s reckoned,A sun that is the source of all our power….So remember, when you’re feeling very small and insecure,How amazingly unlikely is your birth,And pray that there’s intelligent life somewhere up in space,’Cause there’s bugger all down here on Earth.(from Monty Python’s Meaning of Life:)

Hi!I found you through The Barefoot Bum – love this poem and I’ve linked to it from my blog – I’ve quoted the first couple of verses – hope that’s okay. Let me know if not and I’ll take it down…Keep on rhyming!
