Here’s a little fact that most of you probably don’t know about me: I hate Bob Dylan’s music. Not only do I hate Bob Dylan’s music, but I don’t understand anyone who likes it. I recognize that everyone has their own preferences when it comes to something as subjective and personal as music, but Bob Dylan is just objectively terrible. Thus, I have to assume that Brad Self was either punishing or trolling me when he asked me to play this:
EDIT: I have uploaded this three times and every time it has this 2-second delay. I apologize, but I don’t know how to fix it. The original video file is not delayed.
Compare this to the original here (or don’t… because of how awful Bob Dylan is).

Product of his time. Ie, “Layladylay” 40 odd years later is merely dickish.

One of our local public radio stations here in Minneapolis, Minnesota was talking about Bob Dylan the day after he got the Presidential Medal of Freedom. I’m not sure if either of the DJs are fans of his, they didn’t say. But the one played a song that he had been assured was the worst Bob Dylan song ever released. It was call Wiggle Wiggle and has the lines “Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a bowl of soup” and “wiggle like a big fat snake”.
Entire lyrics are here: http://www.bobdylan.com/us/songs/wiggle-wiggle
I wouldn’t mind him as much if he didn’t sound like he was singing through his nose.

I can’t help but love the guy for songs like “All Along The Watchtower” and “I Shall be Released” and “Silvio” and “Man in the Long Black Coat” and “Hurricane” and pretty much anything off the album “Desire.” That said, his religious phase was pretty insufferable and his big hits are relatively overrated. Objectively terrible, though? Can’t agree on that.
