The “Supreme Being” has not done even one little thing to make life easier for non-privileged people. The Supreme Court (well, most of it) has.

That’s a reference to Scalia’s dissent, in which he argues that the Court shouldn’t be deciding this issue because it is unrepresentative: all lawyers, Ivy Leaguers, etc., and no Protestants, let alone an Evangelical. He even throws in that there isn’t a “real” Westerner (a presumed shot at Anthony Kennedy, who is from California).
Curiously, when it comes to voting rights cases, though, Scalia doesn’t give a shit whether the actual electorate is representative of the population.
In the 1970s, the Philadelphia Flyers played goon hockey. One of Fred Shero’s slogan was:
If you can’t beat them, beat them up.
That’s Huckabee’s tactic with this slogan. He knows he can’t win the presidency anymore, so he’s trying to incite the rabidly religious to commit violence. He wants the scum who have targeted black churches for violence recently to start targeting LGBTQ people and our allies.

Huckabee is absolutely correct. First Amendment non-establishment means that religious dogma should have no input into government, including legal, decisions. God can do his own thing (what that thing might be depends entirely on the opinions of the individual theist) and the Supreme Court can follow the Constitution. In short, “gawd thinks what gays do in bed is icky” is not a good reason to forbid same-sex marriage.
