Too sexy for the lab

The BBC tells us:

Female scientists have been sharing “distractingly sexy” photos of themselves after a feminist website encouraged them to respond to comments by a Nobel laureate.

Here’s one:

Many of them are hilarious, such as:

Smart women are pretty darned sexy, but if that prevents you from doing good science, you aren’t much of a scientist.

And if you let your attraction for a coworker interfere with *their* work, you’re far worse than “not much of a scientist”.

Dammit. Now I have “I’m too sexy for this lab….too sexy for this lab…” stuck in my head.

I find competent people (whatever their gender) to be exciting, interesting, and (my lizard brain gets confused) yes, sexy. So I’d probably rate some of those as “distractingly sexy” but I’d keep my fucking mouth shut about it so as not to interrupt them while they’re doing their work. Sheesh, how hard is that?
