so, how many of Operation rescue live near this fellow and have parking spaces nearby? How many homophobes?
it’s also curious that the author of this strip assume all police officers lie, to excuse not believing in the reports. I know that all police officers don’t lie.

What of the police departments that shields the cops who do lie and do murder.
So what what if all police officers do not lie when the liars are protected.

I don’t know. I don’t see why shooting people over parking spaces precludes it being a hate crime. The two don’t seem mutually exclusive to me. Even if it was a parking space dispute, he could still have shot because he hates Muslims.

The bit about the cops lying – is frankly conspiracy think. While cops may shield other cops who do murder, Hicks was not a cop. What would their interest in sheilding him be exactly?

I find it curious that you’re ignoring the fact that “wrong” is also an offered possibility.
That said, someone in one of my facebook groups said “it’s not because of atheism, it just isn’t” so we probably should just ignore it entirely.
I wonder if this will at least lead people to stop demanding that all Muslims apologise for Islamic terrorism, since so many of us are apparently unwilling to even contemplate taking a stance against Hicks unless it’s irrefutably proven that he was motivated by atheism alone.

This is a complicated case that defies our easy responses. I don’t have an easy response.
I wouldn’t call the cartoon “brilliant”. It is unjust to Dawkins and Wilson, and also hateful.
For the record: I do think Hicks may have been (partly) motivated by hate.
