I feel like certain areas of the Atheist movement treat “Islamophobia” the same way a lot of homophobic people may say they’re being persecuted, or how a MRA may feel persecuted by feminists.

trucreep, I’m missing your point. Do you think that county commissioner is an Atheist or part of the Atheist movement? Is it much more likely that that same county commissioner would have happily posted the exact same thing if you replaced “Muslim” with “Atheist”? The fact that Islamphobia exists and is a real problem does not mean that every accusation of Islamaphobia is true or merited. Is all criticism of Islam or Islamic practices Islamaphobia?
