Don’t forget I have some evolution themed Christmas cards for sale!
Have no idea what to actually write in your godless Christmas cards? Digital Cuttlefish has oodles of atheist Christmas poems.
And if you still need to buy a gift for PZ, you can bid on this awesomely blasphemous piece of art by Joshua Bennett:
He’s auctioning off the piece, and all proceeds go to the American Humanist Association.

Technically, doesn’t coal also descend from the four on the right?
Epistaxis says
Why is your phylogenetic tree ultrametric? Neighbor-joining or GTFO.
Joshua Bennett says
Wow, I made that? Wait… no, that’s a different Joshua Bennett. :(

Ummm… I just send out “Peace” cards to my Jewish/atheist/pagan friends who are offended by Christmas cards.

Yeah we’re pretty common. That is to say, I’m the one who made that, but we have a pretty common name.

why is my name a long string of meaningless characters? either freethought blogs or wordpress has failed me. :(

Logged in through facebook. Did it work?

Err, I’m going to say “yes”, but don’t quote me on that.

@ Epistaxis
Her tree is clearly date-calibrated on some sort of log-scale. Also, Neighbor-Joining is a disastrous algorithm that ignores shared descent and is irrevocably phenetic. Something heuristic or GTFO – cladistic analysis or maximum likelihood at the very least.

And yet you wonder why athiests don’t get any traction with the general public….

I have an ongoing joke with a few friends to find and send only the cheapest, tackiest Crimbo cards we can find. The sort that have more glitter than picture and that are so thin that they can barely stand under their own weight. Pictures have to be stereotypes of the worst kind. Angels, snow covered Victorian scenes, robins, that kind of cheap and nasty stuff and makes you cringe. The kind of cards that even thrift stores have trouble selling.
I’m afraid that these cards are simply too high quality to be considered joke cards.

I shared your cards on my blog again this year (along with lots of other Darwin and evolution-themed Christmas stuff: http://thedispersalofdarwin.wordpress.com/2011/12/07/tis-the-season-to-evolving/), and the post has had a phenomenal (for my blog at least) 1,200 hits. I hope some of those went toward purchasing your cards!

I’d been encouraged this excellent website by simply the nephew. Im not certain no matter whether this particular write-up can be published by your ex because nobody else know this kind of in depth regarding my personal difficulties. You’re outstanding! Many thanks!
