A warm welcome to Canada

Hey, remember how I just said I’d be going to Canada for a lovely godless conference? Well, the same atheist group sponsoring the event had some bus ads in the area – evil, evil signs saying stuff like “There’s probably no god. Now stop worrying and enjoy your life.” Bus drivers refused to drive the buses featuring the ads, and the spokeswoman for the organization announced that any vandalized ads would be removed and not replaced. You know, just so everyone knows that. Wink nudge.

Unsurprisingly, the bus ads are now down – but not because someone took a magic marker to them. They mysteriously disappeared from all of the buses while locked in a guarded area, and look to have been removed professionally rather than ripped off. And of course, the bus company refuses to replace them.

Man, if religious people are that afraid of atheists saying “There’s probably no god,” we better bring the smelling salts for this conference. I’m sure they’ll love my talk about how “God” is a misogynistic, abusive asshole. Hopefully I don’t disappear in the middle of the night too.

sweetheart if you disappear in the middle of the night I certainly hope we see some fun footage of wherever you go to!

If you disappear in the middle of the night I hope it’s because you took a bus a little east.

Which part do you think the bus drivers objected to, the “there’s probably no god” part or the “stop worrying and enjoy your life” part?

I can’t believe they are making CFI pay to replace them. What a dick move. CFI should sue or something.

OT: ??? is the “Popular Posts” feature sorted alphabetically? Shouldn’t it be by popularity or something? I’m weary of seeing those same posts.

Proves that a certain percentage of people everywhere are faith-heads . Uhg. Overall BC’s pretty cool though.

Joanna Lingsangan wants to make it clear that if Jen McCreight is vandalized while in Kamloops, she will not be replaced.

They should sue. The ads were purchased property under the care of the bus agency. If damage occurred because of wear-and-tear, that is one thing. But the buses (therefore the ads) were kept in a secure location under the control of the bus agency, and someone got access to the buses and damaged them, that was via the bus agencys negligence OR it is property damage that should be reported to their insurance company. If you take your car to a repair shop, and they leave the keys somewhere they could be stolen, its negligence, and they are responsible for your car.If you take your car to a repair shop, and they do everything they can to make sure your car is secure, but someone breaks in and steals your car anyway, their property/company insurance covers the cost of your car.I know this, and I just watch ‘Judge Judy’ every afternoon. Im sure CFI has a lawyer that actually knows how to pursue it.
