As far as you can see, mountains of snow. Today, snowing. Very fast, very heavy. We’re getting buried. No idea if we’ll be able to get out at all this week. Rick had just managed to get the van dug out yesterday, which needs a new battery, because frozen. I’m not liking winter.

There were more than half a dozen Downy and Hairy Woodpeckers out this morning, all desperate for food. They even put a moratorium on territory fighting.
Greenfinches from Charly:
When the birds finally stood still, the wind moved the whole tree. The females seemed more cautious and and even less likely to pose for a picture than males. Overall are these little buggers restless and they come by only for a short time every day in a flock of ~10 individuals.
