My mom almost did not bake any gingerbread this year, she is not doing very well I am afraid. And I am trying to make knives when I have time and stamina, so I probably won’t bake any. But my mom did make two houses in the end, so here they are (below the fold). She loves doing these things and I am glad I invested money when I had it into automated devices that take care of the most laborious and heavy work so she can do it even now.
She complained a lot that her hands are getting shaky and the decorating is not as neat as it used to be, but she does that for several years now. I still think she makes beautiful, original, and wholesome gingerbread decorations and I keep telling her.

Your mom’s work is beautiful. I wish I had half her talent.
Please tell your mum that her ‘shaky’ work is far better than my non-shaky work would ever be, they are lovely!
The houses are lovely as always. Your mum’s animals just have such a personality.
I love that the houses have horses, pigs and fish… that is so cool. I wish every house had a horse, fish and pig. That would be so awesome. It would be so great to have one of these… I bet the people who do absolutely love them.
Your mother has done a wonderful job again this year. Her shaky hand still looks precise to me and I’m glad she felt up to making such beautiful creations. I also love the animals that surround the houses, especially the fish because it’s so unexpected. I’m sure they taste just as delicious as they look.
