The Art of Book Design: The Olive Fairy Book

Andrew Lang. The Olive Fairy Book. Illustrations by H.J. Ford. London, New York, Longmans, Green, 1907.

This week’s Andrew Lang fairy book is the second to last book of the series and it’s filled with whimsy and charm. There are dragons and serpents, oxen and camel, spiders and lots and lots of birds. I’ve included all the full-page drawings because each of them spoke to me in one way or another.

  1. Tomas Virgin says

Teachers are indeed heroes. In the 1970s, I knew a special education teacher named Mary who worked with socially and emotionally disturbed girls. Despite the challenges, she found fulfillment in her work. In German, secondary school is often called “Gymnasium.” For reviews on services like https://www.sitejabber.com/reviews/paper24.com Paper24, you can visit Sitejabber.com.
