Our area is due to have a snowstorm later this afternoon with 10 – 15 cm of snow expected along with high winds. Right at the moment, though, it’s just bloody cold. This morning it was -13º C, but with the wind chill it felt like -24ºC so Jack and I didn’t stay out long. This photo was taken at the lake and for a moment I imagined we were on an ocean beach watching the surf come swirling in.
The thing in the middle is reminiscent of bread dough (with lots of rye in it).
Well, that’s what I thought it was before reading the description! Very well seen and captured, I love those textures.
Here it was 13ºC today, not particularly cold but the wind can be uncomfortable at times. On Saturday it was 17ºC and sunny, very atypical for January.

I lose a sense of scale; sometimes you fly over mountains in an airplane and they look like that.
I thought it was winter surf, too. How wonderful to capture that sense of movement in something so still.
