I’m not quite sure what the term for such a body of water is. It’s not a pond, but it fills quickly with water after rain.

You could use flash, it’s one of the things we’d call it in the north of England. If any of the other names come to me I’ll add them.

I think that might be best described as a carr, which is wet in winter, and has sallow and alder scrub growing on it. It might also be an ing, which would be an area on the edge of a wet land that was wet in winter, dry in summer. You can find both as part of place names.
