Unfortunately it is. Last weekend my BFF was at her parents’ house, which is close to the Rhine. She posted pics of her standing in what should be the riverbed 3m deep and 8-10m off the river bank. There were tomato plants.
This is getting seriously problematic because those are main waterways that usually transport goods. As a result fuel is getting real expensive and the roads are getting clogged by trucks.

Not drier here, still raining and the weekend is predicted to bring even more of it. I’m still not too tired though, perhaps because last year’s drought is still too fresh on my mind.
We have varied from rain to heavy rain to extremely heavy rain all day. Though it did stop around seven so the dogs only got wet from the long grass.

That the Rhine river system is so seriously low should be making headlines. That seems like an urgent problem. Do you have water restrictions in Germany?

#7 Voyager: we do not. I live pretty much next to the rhine, near Mainz and there are sandbanks exposed and plants are growing on them. It should make headlines, but it does not.
I was mushroom hunting in october and found … pretty much nothing. Everything is so dry. But one of the cindershrooms did this water-excreting thing as well. I wonder why they do that.
