My pics aren’t the greatest either. The big lense needs a lot of light, so I had to use long shutter times and as silly as it sounds, the moon is a moving object. Anything above 1 second and it starts to blur and I had to do 8. It was also so dark that I had a hard time finding it through the searcher at all and the focus was guesswork.

I think these are good pictures, especially considering how dim and small that moon really is. Thy capture the mood of the night nicely.
Kudos on capturing the Red Duo together. I tried that too, but it resulted in capturing neither of them.

A few different looks at the Moon. Plus Mars. They are all good.

Yep, mine turned out more or less like that, except less blur and more grain. I guess you compromised on shutter speed and I compromised on ISO, I shot mine at ISO 1600 and 1/4 sec. I think I stand by that decision, I just regret having adjusted the focus through the viewfinder rather than through live preview. I think that would have made a big difference. I should have compromised a bit more on aperture too, I went with f/10, but maybe with f/8 I could have tried a lower ISO.
I guess what I’m saying is blood moons should have a rehearsal the night before…

Good job on getting the two Ms in one, though sad about the focus. They’re all suitably smoky and portentous, though.

Beautiful and certainly captures the colours and impressions I saw. Love these photos. Thanks Giliell.
