Unsurprisingly, League of the South is attempting to mate with Russia, home of, and saviour of white people. There’s a whole lot to the article, just a bit here.
Amid the controversy over President Trump’s recent summit with Russian strongman Vladimir Putin, the neo-Confederate League of the South announced this week that it will soon be introducing a Russian language section to its website.“To our Russian friends,” a missive on the League’s website, is signed by Michael Hill, the group’s president. An excerpt:
We understand that the Russian people and Southerners are natural allies in blood, culture, and religion. As fellow Whites of northern European extraction, we come from the same general gene pool. As inheritors of the European cultural tradition, we share similar values, customs, and ways of life. And as Christians, we worship the same Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and our common faith binds us as brothers and sisters.
We Southerners believe in societies based on real, organic factors such as shared blood, culture, and religion, and all that stems naturally from these salient factors in the human experience. As fellow White Christians who are grounded in the sublime traditions of our common European cultural heritage, we believe that the Russian people and the Southern people are natural allies against the destructive and impersonal impulses of globalism.
Religion is organic? Huh. As for these “sublime traditions”, c’mon, let’s hear about some of them. Any of them. Provide some details on all this sublimeness. Interestingly enough, the first definition of ¹Sublime is: to cause to pass directly from the solid to the vapor state and condense back to solid form. If one uses that particular definition, yeah, I can buy the sublime tradition nonsense.
Mr. Hill teaches that the defeat of Nazi Germany was “an unmitigated disaster for Western Christian civilization.” I don’t know who taught Mr. Hill about World War II, but they should be smacked.
Alt-Right leaders and white nationalists adore Russia’s Vladimir Putin, much as American Religious Right leaders do. As Casey Michel noted in a RWW report last year, Richard Spencer has called Russia the “most powerful white power in the world.” Matthew Heimbach, leader of the now-disbanded white nationalist Traditionalist Worker Party, called Putin “the leader of the free world.” Former KKK leader David Duke, who was a speaker at this year’s League of the South conference, has said he believes Russia holds the “key to white survival.”
Putin has supported right-wing nationalist movements across Europe. In 2015, Jared Taylor, the American proponent of “race realism,” took part in a conference in St. Petersburg that gathered activists from Europe’s far right. There Taylor declared the United States “the greatest enemy of tradition everywhere.” Also in attendance was former KKK lawyer Sam Dickson, who praised Putin’s efforts to preserve “[the white] race and civilization.”
I can’t figure out why all these wannabe nazis don’t just run off to Russia. They’d be happy, and we’d all be better off without them.

Wow, I’m actually curious to know how Russia is not in Asia? Or how Russian people aren’t genetically distinct from say, French, or Norwegian peoples? I’m pretty familiar with the history of the region that transitions between Europe and Russia proper between the late 1600’s to the Russian Revolution. If I ever make it to Moscow I will go pull my families land claims and village records from their archives. East Europe or West Asia, the Caucasus has not been an obstacle to gene flow since the glaciers melted.

I’ve read some of their comments, too. Including confusing Finland with the former Soviet bloc of eastern Europe, so I’m not surprised. I’m kind of pissed off about the superior tone, I guess. Not all of us can be privy to the Ultimate Truthiness, but I’m confident of my own appraisals of the international situation, thank you, and I don’t think that makes me an idiot. Though perhaps my proximity to the European border makes me too near-sighted to see the big picture, plus -- emotions, amirite? *spits* Just the former Soviet backwater here, it’s not like we hear the news or anything, or have our own issues with the neighbours.

There’s some alliances you’d never thought you’d see.
Of course those original Nazis they all love so much thought that the Slavs were “Untermenschen” who needed to be killed so there’d be room for the superior Aryans (not that the actual Aryans in Iran ever showed much interest in that).
But their shared love is usually about the hatred of the Other.
Of course the League of South wouldn’t welcome lots of actual Russians coming to their communities. Just like Orban is still an anti semite, despite Netanyahu being his best buddy as long as they agree on the killing of muslims. No actual Jewish people welcome in Hungary. And while all the east of Europe seems to be united in their rally cry that immigration is bad, they are remarkably silent on the subject of emigration, which is a time honoured tradition with their populace, which gets then abused, attacked and occasionally killed by their governments’ BFFs in the west.
Though that makes some sense: if folks can no longer leave and have to stay you can better control them.

Nah, emigration is an issue here, at least from.the skewed view of demographics -- traitors to their country, all of them!!!!!!!1!! There’s programs to get them back, but from what I know, they’re not particularly effective. I’ve participated in multiple surveys, but they never ask the right kinds of questions to get insightful answers.
In a similar but different vein, there was(?) a refugee-aid centre run by people who don’t believe they’re refugees but opportunistic betrayers of their own country. I think that one got closed down, though.
Oh, and it’s funny -- the vast majority emigrate away from Russia.

The racial violence against Jewish people involving Russia has quite an extensive history. It is often listed as one of the justifications for the Russian Revolution, decades before Nazi Germany. If you want an object lesson on Russian history as an ally, you need to go look up Bessarabia, and Bukovina. Figure out the difference between White Russians, Black Russians, Red Russians, and Green Russians. Czars, Katherines I and II, and how Nicholas II was as German as he was Russian.

If you read some of the reasons given for the native populaces brutality, it sounds EXACTLY like the orange buffoons racist take on immigration, and his asinine trade ideas too. First, throw out all the people who actually grow the food and take their property. When that results in food shortages, blame another group of immigrants for sucking up all the prosperity. Stoke racial tensions by running false news and propaganda. Infiltrate the police, so that they will not protect the targeted minority and might in fact have been the ringleaders of the pogrom. Lather, rinse, repeat.

Since I live in a country where we’re still fighting over the Reformation (and I mean that quite literally -- a Catholic priest was assaulted during an Orange walk* in Glasgow just a couple of weeks ago), I really do find it endlessly amusing that so many Americans seem to think that Christianity is one big happy family. Guys, the Eastern Orthodox Church thinks that the RCC are a bunch of heretics because of the East-West Schism of 1054. Protestantism doesn’t even register.
(* For those who don’t know, Orange walks are events where hard-line Protestants march around to commemorate Prince William of Orange’s victory over King James II at the Battle of the Boyne in 1690.)
