We had a good rain last night and when it was over the humidity and high temps were gone. We slept with the windows open and this morning greeted us with a cloudless blue sky and a lovely breeze. It’s definitely an outside kind of day. I hope it is for you too.

I love the smell after rain.
We had thunderstorms last night and the farmer across the way has been cutting hay in my field. It smells fantastic.
I saw mister skunk out in the yard last night, eating the japanese beetles (om! nom!) and thought of Jack.
It’s been an outside day for me, though I only went out after 5pm. It’s been about 30 °C and even on the island I visited it was very hot.
Glad to hear you have an easier weather now.

30ºC? You’ve been getting hotter weather over there than what we’ve been getting here! We’ve been joking that summer forgot to show up this year, but maybe it just moved north after all.

Yes, 30 °C in the early afternoon, however it was “only” 29 °C at 6 pm and 27 °C at 10 pm.
Here it was 26ºC in the early afternoon, about 22ºC at 6 pm and 17ºC right now (10 pm). And it’s a relatively hot day compared to what we’ve been getting. Tomorrow it’s supposed to not go past 23ºC. It rained on Sunday and it should rain again on Thursday. This isn’t our typical summer. I don’t know what happened to it.
21°C at 7AM here, 30°C at 7PM and I refuse to find out what it’s like midday: it’s enough to walk out of work at the end of the day into that humidifying furnace that is the city street. Ugh. I’m not built for this tropicality.
I try to get out and walk 2-3 times a week, but some days I’m up at noon and its already warm up here Seattle way. I take an extra paper towel with me on those days.

I had not realized one could get a lake like that in SW Ont. Clearly too much time spent in the urban areas. I tend to think of something like that in Eastern or Northern Ontario.
We (other end of province) have had the same relief from the humidity. It’s been a lovely day. Did Jack swim all the way across the lake?

I am finding that cycling at six o’clock in the morning is bearable. Noon is madness.

This is actually part of the Thames River system. It’s a man-made lake created when a dam was built for flood control. It’s fairly shallow compared to northern lakes. As for Jack, he’s more of a paddler than a swimmer.
