The weather has finally broken and today is actually cool and comfortable. Jack and I had a pleasant, leisurely walk that didn’t feel like we were plodding along with lead in our shoes. Even better, we found a sunny patch of wild raspberries that was warm and sweet and came home with red stained fingers and happy smiles.

Watch out for bears! A few years ago I stopped at my favourite black cap patch and was merrily picking away when I realized that all those crushed areas in the patch meant that it was also a local bear’s favourite patch.
Those look delicious! I’m so glad your weather is more tolerable now. Heat can really beat you down. Supposed to be 92 F here today, but there’s a good wind keeping things okay.
When I was a kid, in the summers, I knew where there was a secret raspberry patch gone wild. I ised to take books and lemonade and just camp out there.
Sun-warmed frsh berries are a special treat even if Jack prolly didn’t want any.
Sadly that is about what our cultivated raspberries look like, it’s just been so dry. The taste is intense though so that is some compensation.
Fresh wild raspberries, mmm! All the best berries have the raspberry shape, raspberries, cloudberries and arctic brambles.
