It’s kuusitiainen (spruce tit) here and Tannenmeise (fir tit) in German, right? We have spruce (Picea abies), but no fir is native to here (Siberian fir will grow OK), you have fir (Abies alba), they have coal in England but few conifers, so it figures.
Yep, Tannenmeise in German. Wie also have a Kohlmeise, but the English insisted on calling the Great Tits for the benefit iof every 12 year old that ever was.
