We drove into Riverside from Idyllwild to see this movie. Y’know how as soon as the credits start to roll, half the theater empties? Not in this movie. This song was saved for the very end, and people sat riveted to the screen, staring at nothing while being mesmerised by Bowie.

I want another copy of that movie. And another copy of the soundtrack. I have heard many covers of this song, none has been as good as original Bowie.
The VHS and Vinyl just didn’t survive time, much to my regret.
When I get new copies, Don and Evelyn will roll in their graves! Under the hand washed trees, of course.

Um, according to Wikipedia, SRV didn’t play in the OST version, just in the version in Bowie’s album Let’s dance. Both have their strong points, the extravagant OST version and the more “gritty” album version.
