People who get to deal with chronic trauma, extreme stress, all that, know the consequences of falling into complete meltdown. Sometimes, too many, that’s unavoidable, but other times, it can be staved off, at least. I’m hyper-alert, hyper-vigilant, all the hyper, and it’s making it very hard for me to breathe. So, distraction. A glass dish, water, oil, black desk, and a camera. Meltdown Avoidance, click for full size. These are straight out of the camera, no fiddling. Definitely used a flash.

:D It was fun. When I can get back outside sometime, when there’s colour and warmth, Imma do this again.

I am wondering what could be done with coloured oils.
Caine says
Thank you all. :)
Charly, I was wondering that myself. I don’t have any naturally coloured oils, or food colouring in the house, that must be corrected! I’d love to do this outside, in Summer, with colour all around, and bright sun, to play with reflections. I’d even do that now, if I could stand to be outside for half an hour, but high temps are zero, and I have trouble coping.

T-1000 … liquid metal

Liquid metal is pretty! :D Makes up for not being able to play with mercury.

Apologies for late-commenting, but this seemed appropriate. I’ve been in avoidance-mode for a few months, for several reasons. Trying to get back up-to-speed (my OCD won’t let me skip the stuff I missed :-) -- plus I’m always fascinated by the various art posts). Anyway….
The photos are AMAZING. I think I might like to use one as a desktop wallpaper, with your OK.
Hope to have more punctual comments soon….
Caine says
Jim, absolutely, you can use whatever you like! It’s been hard to get out of avoidance mode, so I know the feeling.
Thank you!

So, here we are nearly a year later……..:-)
I didn’t get around to using one of these (or the Blue ones) as a desktop (yet), but lately I’m playing around with some new features on my home NAS/server. I can add a custom banner to the web page for the server, and I’ve played with one of your images:

Cropped and I changed the light curve very quickly so that the text was more readable.
Just fucking around a bit on a Fri evening after a Scotch and a couple of beers. :-)
Cheers.
