It’s glowing!
I love how the brilliant scarlet echoes the slightly more subdued rusty orange of the dried fir needles.
And that widdle face in the last picture… I never realized cardinals also wore bandit masks!
The crest is massive. The coloration looks almost cartoonish. Nothing subtle or subdued in the style of the bird. And he pulls it off nicely.
The contrast with greyish colour in the needles really brings out the glow.
