While Donald Trump campaign chair Paul Manafort is under fire for tight relationships with pro-Kremlin allies and Trump is denying he asked Russia to hack Hillary Clinton, Trump’s eldest daughter and senior Trumpsitting manager is jet setting all over Croatia with Wendi Deng Murdoch, who is Russian president Vladimir Putin’s girlfriend.
According to Gawker, Ivanka Trump posted a photo on Instagram over the weekend with her friend, who happens to be the ex-wife of Rupert Murdoch and the current girlfriend of Putin.

People magazine cites a longtime friendship with Murdoch, who fixed Trump up with now-husband Jared Kushner.

It is less than 90 days until the election in November, Trump’s campaign is in a polling free-fall and Ivanka Trump taking a vacation with the Russian president’s girlfriend probably doesn’t help the campaign.
It seems no one in the Trump family has the slightest ounce of sense. I guess being accustomed to doing whatever you want because loads of money isn’t conducive to thoughfulness.

I was in Dubrovnik in 2005 or so, and it sure is lovely. One of the things I learned was that after the shelling they had to strip the roof-tiles off another entire town to restore Dubrovnik’s appearance (much as how another town was relocated to re-create the vintage downtown area in Warsaw) Europeans have expertise at restoring battle damage… So sitting at a bar in the town square was me, a former USAF pilot, a Montenegrin Serb, a Turk, and couple Germans and two locals. We had a surreal conversation about how the locals were running around waving to the guys on the crestline a ways away, who’d respond with artillery fire, then wave back. It turns out that we ALL agreed that tequila transcended nationalism, and proved that deep into the night.
One has to get the suitcases full of cash from The Donald to Vladimir somehow. Ivanka and Wendi seem entirely suitable as trusted middlemen, bag ladies as it were. By any means the money has to get from Trump to Putin to pay for services rendered. Vlad is a real stickler for getting paid and, fully understanding how banking can be manipulated, he avoids electronic transfers and insists on payment in the one really international trade item that holds value, US currency.
The direction of the cash may be the other way around. I can’t really see that Putin would need money of his own, he controls Russia and her resources. Trump’s actual cash position may not be that great (he thinks he’s a multi-billionaire because his brand is worth so much) and he doesn’t want to use his own money if somebody else is willing foot his bills.

Wendi D. M. (Murdoch allows her to keep using his name after suddenly dumping her?!?) seems to be the Pattie Boyd supergroupie of high-powered assholes.
I bet she sneers at the likes of Ivanka’s stepmother.
