Using the 150 year old technique of chronophotography, Spanish photographer Xavi Bou has figured out a way to take pictures of migrating birds while retaining the fluid sense of motion that gives them all their mystery, poetry, and grace.

Before reading the description and studying the photo more closely, I thought it looked like a macro picture of a feather superimposed onto a landscape picture.
All the photos are awesome, so different, but equally captivating. I love seeing the motion.
I thought, at first glance, this pictures was an evergreen fallen into a lake….

Maybe not an evergreen, a conifer nonetheless: A larch was my first thought.
Wonderful pictures. One common thing in many of the photos seems to be nearly sinusoidal lines drawn by the wingtips.
Actually, there are multiple waveforms, some more and some less sinusoidal.
These are so beautiful, and so alien!
