    I guess being a bit away from the post makes it easier to escape, if necessary, as you have more room to move your wings and turn.

    The woodgrain pattern on the wings and upper back looks good.

    During Summer, the smaller birds tend to stay off the top of the suet because grackles. Grackles are terribly clumsy, and they don’t much care about where, or on who they land. :D
