Google may be the new antichrist, what with their brazen slicing and dicing of data collected by their own search engine. Those devils! But here’s what the evil Googliati found when comparing online searches for the Teaparty and Occupy Wall Street movements:
Search interest for [Occupy Wall Street] jumped ahead of the [Tea Party] on September 24, and hasn’t looked back. In a historical context, when viewing the snapshot of their nascent birth, we can see the peak of [Occupy Wall Street] has slightly more interest in American than searches for the [Tea Party] did during the groups peak in 2009.
The Teaparty is so 2009. OWS has already succeeded in completely changing the national dialogue, from budget cuts at the expense of the victims of Wall Street just a few weeks ago, to the simmering anger at the vast inequities in income a tiny slice of beneficiairies of government largess enjoy today.
But don’t count em out, they are not going to wither away anytime soon, not before the 2012 election anyway. There’s a ton of wingnut money behind the Teaparty, until that dries up they’ll be taken seriously by traditional media — even if they’re only half a dozen people wearing funny hats wandering thru the mall demanding Big Government keep its hands off their Medicare.

Yeah, which means OWS has to hang in there for quite some time yet!

I don’t think they are going anywhere Leo.
