Krea’s chat mode adds an interesting new dimension to image creation. For example, you can tell it “create a portrait of ben franklin” then, when it doesn’t look Franklin enough, you provide an image and say “more like Franklin” then work on the setting. It’s interesting.

I must mention that a) I have a 1st edition of that book, b) I have identified many mistakes in it and would not dream of trying most of its recipes, c) I only wanted a copy because the powers that be said I couldn’t have one and I was disappointed when I finally got it, but d) it’s not really anything about anarchism. At best, it’s a “manual for mayhem” but I don’t even think it’s very good as far as it goes.

Our scope is pre-revolutionary activity, which is almost certainly going to be insurgency rather than anarchy. Any successful insurgency needs to be coordinated, have logistical systems and intelligence-gathering, and tactical and strategic leadership. In fact, if you study the US Revolutionary war, the main thing that leaps out at you is how generally incompetent the rebels were. They floundered about, quickly, accomplishing not much, but were just smart enough to take advantage of the fact that the British sent upper class pinheads to command their troops, had a months-long lag built into their logistics and command structure, and the rebels were fortunate to do things at the right time.

I was surprised to see that the AI doesn’t know what a “molotov cocktail” is, but it seems to understand “improvised bomb.”

Oh, that explains the cocktail muddler in the glass, which is not how you serve cocktails. Also that glassware isn’t correct

Yeah, the choice of glassware was upsetting me too… Recently, I’ve been finding the weird focal issues to be the most upsetting thing about these sorts of images. I’m not sure if they’ve got worse on that point, or if I’m just noticing it more…

As for the book, I’ve long suspected it to be disinfo produced by some branch of the security services.

Myself I am wondering if Marcus has been using the word “douchenozzle” a lot in front of the young and impressionable Krea. :)

At the time I had access to a copy, I was also quite disappointed: I had a certain, hmm, territory that needed defending, but the AC had nothing about alarms, nor indeed anything non-lethal.

It’s how AIs make molotov cocktails, I guess. Perhaps this means we are safe from them taking over…?

‘Banal and hollow’: Why the quaint paintings of Thomas Kinkade divided the US

I will check that out. There’s also a good “behind the bastards” episode about what a piece of garbage Kinkade was. Since AI models now don’t include keyword mappings for artists’ names, you can not really ask for “a painting in the style of Thomas Kinkade” but you can talk about glowing light, etc. and try to approximate.
