I did not realize there is an “international emoji day” ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
In case you care, it’s July 17. This year, apparently, an artist is trying to convince the committee that we need this timely emoji: [vice]
It’s particularly appropriate, now that Trump is saying stupid things like that he may not accept election results. [pha]
We won’t need guillotines, because we’ve got a long, big, beautiful wall to put him up against. It’d be poetry.

July 17th is also Yellow Pig Day.

“now that Trump is saying stupid things like that he may not accept election results”
Didn’t he start saying that before he won the election?

Guillotines? That is soooooo July 14th.

The French royalty were like English beer: very flat, no head.
Jazzlet says
Intransitive, that joke doesn’t work anymore as pretty much all English beers are brewed to be pulled through a tight nozzle giving them a head of at least a couple of centimetres and more usually three centimetres. Pubs no longer use pint-to-the-brim glasses, but pint-to-the-line glasses with room for the heads. They are served colder than in my youth too. I liked some of those ‘flat’ beers.

I guess I should learn not to worry so much about the scratches in my blades.

These days really worry me. I guess planning to retrain as a medtech isn’t terrible given that rich people will still wan’t to live even after our roads and bridges have crumbled so that there’s no longer any point to owning a flashy sports car.
The information revolution seems to have driven segregation of interpreting things that happen in the world to the point that my uncle apparently believes that a virus that could kill him is way overblown, that it is not severely terrifying that federal agents are now openly driving around in unmarked vehicles in large numbers to brutalize protestors on flimsy grounds, but that the real threat was Obama was going to seize America’s guns, even though he didn’t, and would not concede the presidency to Trump, even though he did.
This level of disconnect between populations that communicate with each other to some degree is quite frankly terrifying. If this is not how civil wars come about, then what is?
