I have to make a sudden trip out to Los Angeles, and I have no idea if my writing and commenting schedule will be impacted. This is one of those “it’s either going to be very boring” or “it’s going to be very busy and exciting” trips and I don’t know which, yet.
If it turns out to be one of the boring ones, I know a great Thai place in Hollywood (Palms Thai) if anyone’s up for amazing grilled pork and thom kha soup.

Travel safe! If it’s a boring trip, I hope you have a nice time and get a mini-vacation out of it.

Hell yes! What day, what time, for the Palms Thai?

I have a whole big stack of books along. But somehow I doubt it’ll be boring. I’m taking the remaining Fred Vargas books I haven’t read, as well as a bunch of stuff about the industrial revolution and a copy of Das Kapital. If I’m really bored, I can use that to knock myself out.

If I’m feeling down, I can use One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich to get some perspective.

If you’re bored, you live longer.

Minor update: I will not be living in a data center and it looks like I will have time for thai food wednesday, for anyone who wants to join me. If you haven’t been to Palms, it’s really really good. See y’all there.
