I’m going to Lavecon in Northhamptonshire, and spending a couple days in London at the V&A and the Brit. So my posting frequency will drop slightly. If you’re a new commenter, or want to argue with me, you may experience some delay but I promise you a full measure eventually.
Normal ranting and raving will resume after the 19th.
I will delete this posting upon my return.

What if we have a scintillating discussion here while you are off gallivanting?
Caine says
Oooh, sounds like a nice time. Travel safe!

Chigau@#1:
Have at it!

uuh …
so …
did y’all see the game?
polishsalami says
Don’t lie. You are out searching for Pokemon, I know it.
Marcus Ranum says
I am going to wait until version 1.2 comes out and the server load issues are resolved. I always wait for the first update of anything and never buy the first version of any product.
Sunday Afternoon says
@Marcus (#6): Microsoft Surface Book immediately springs to mind. I’m looking forward to playing with v2 when it appears…

A con(~ference/~vention) dedicated to washing? Do you feel a need to get next to godliness?
Rob says
Would that be a five minute argument or a ten minute argument?
chigau (違う) says
If it’s not just contradiction, I’ll take the ten minute.
Holms says
What’s wrong with contradiction as an argument?
chigau (違う) says
I already told you.
Argument is an intellectual process. Contradiction is just the automatic gainsaying of anything the other person says.
Holms says
No it isn’t…
Holms says
(Yes, I asked that question purely out of hope that I could simply contradict your answer)
John Morales says
People often literally contradict themselves, but I’ve learnt that I often have to be circumspect about noting that.
For example, “proud of not being proud”, “not tolerating intolerance”.
Yeah, I know that they are sometimes merely expressing themselves poorly via unqualified claims — in my examples above, they mean to refer to different kinds of pride and of intolerance — but, still, sometimes they are not.

I’m relying on that.
