Some time ago, I discussed how people who live in mobile homes but do not own the land the homes sit on are vulnerable to their lack of mobility being exploited by voracious people who buy the mobile home parks and then jack up the land rents.
John Oliver took up this issue and describes the devastating impact that this has on people.

There is a mobile home park along the New York State Thruway between Manchester and Geneva. When I was a kid in the 80’s, there were perhaps a dozen homes. Today there are at least hundreds and maybe even a thousand. It’s like its own little town.
