I’m conflicted here. That whole “Canadians are always polite” thing, covers a lot of shitty things we do. But I would also stop in the case of a hit or near miss like this to make sure everyone was ok. And take responsibility for my fault, either going too fast or turning without making sure it was clear. And I want to believe that its not so far out there that other people would do this too. Its not just a Canada thing to care that other people are ok, right?

USian here. Once, when I was quite pregnant, I gently rear ended a vehicle which turned out to be occupied by a former coworker and her child, although I didn’t know it initially. We each got out of our cars to make sure the other vehicle occupants were alright. We were! It’s not just a Canadian thing: data point 1.
