That’s how much smug costs, I guess

Until recently, Congress had a mask mandate, and if you showed up without a mask, the first time they’d hit you with a $500 fine…the second and subsequent times, it shoots up to $2500. Guess who refused to wear a mask?

Marjorie Taylor Greene.

Rather than just putting on a mask, she decided to stand up for her rights and refused to wear one or to pay the fines. Except she decided to sue to have the fines revoked. Guess what? She lost.

All those fines added up to more than her yearly salary of $174,000 (she’s grossly overpaid), so we basically got her ‘services’ for free.

You get what you pay for. Or in this case, a bit less.

Regardless of the cost, I don’t recall ordering a psychotic, show-boating, fascist.

This just kills me. We not only have to permit and allow this scumsucker her own public forum, we have to pay to hear her spout her stupidity.

Assuming this fine is ever paid, I doubt it’ll come out of her pocket. I’m sure her gullible minions would foot the bill if a big donor doesn’t step in.

According to the map in Wikipedia, MTG’s congressional district includes the town of Flintstone. How appropriate!

If you click through to the article, it mentions that it’s more than her salary. She took it to court, and lost.

Also of note, these fines come from her salary, and cannot be paid with campaign or congressional office budget funds.

Could she eventually end up with a charge that disqualifies her f r om office?
    Please?
    Pretty please?

They’re never going to collect. What they should have done is have the Sgt. At Arms kick her dumb ass out. Money doesn’t mean shit to these people. She’s being bribed left and right top to bottom to spew her hate. She doesn’t need any of that money. It’s time to start talking about campaign finance reform AGAIN. There’s a lot of shit going on in the world, but campaign finance and term limits are important. MTG could be on her way to being the next Strom Thurmond.

campaign finance reform is the proposal that scares the donor class the most it has the potential to make things more open and transparent. term limits is a red herring it only changes the person in the office and does nothing at all about the lobbyist and special interests and the big financial backers who would end up with even more control then they have now.
