Koreans know how to throw a party

It was Knut’s first birthday, so he was the center of attention in the Korean expat community of Watertown, NY.

Now I’m hungry. I don’t think he ate all that food.

Happy Tol! What object did he pick up in the superstitious “whatever item a one year old randomly touches determines its career” ritual?

Weird how every picture of people having dinner at a long table reminds me of the last supper. Apparently, I just haven’t seen enough pictures of people at long tables.

In any case, Congratulations! You are lucky to have two lovely grandchildren. Delight in them. Totes envious.

Though, I will say, I’m not entirely sure that the way we bring up our children to grow away from us is entirely healthy. I know the historic patriarchy was evil, but I still think it would be better if children were more welcome in their home. Yeah, I miss my daughter terribly, and nothing will ever make up for her leaving adventuring. I know it is how we do it, but I hate it.

Wow, a year already! That went fast.
What’s the significance of the brightly tiled spindles? The one on the far left looks covered in cereal.
