I they ever smiled, their faces would split open to reveal lizardmen aliens from Tau Ceti III. You do not want to see that.

One of the surest ways to identify an abusive asshole is to watch them toggle back-and-forth from aggression to playing the victim.

Every abusive asshole I ever met plays the victim card when it suits them. Weepy entitled-Brett-brat just put on an Oscar-worthy victim performance, thus revealing his true nature.

    Amen.
The current fascists in Italy are doing just that, and Berlusconi before them.

On Thursday, I listened to portions of the testimonies by Dr Ford, and by Kavanaugh. I thought then that we rarely see rich white male entitlement and privilege displayed in all its ugliness, as we did then. Thursday will, I think, be remembered for a long time as the day that the masks came off, and the rulers showed their full contempt for the non-elite. Kavanaugh is a prick, but we can thank him for the unmasking. Now, anyone who doesn’t understand what and who we are fighting is either stupid, bought off, or asleep.

I think you’re right about that. It was just so nasty, Prep-monster Bratt crying, crying then shouting, then crying.

“I only stuck my penis in her face once!”

“But I was shit-faced! Forgotten by me is forgiven by her!”

“Oh, wait, I take that back, I never got shit-faced!”

” And I was a Stone Cold Virgin.”

Shouting-Crying-Brett, entitled white frat boy/secret society boy who is ENRAGED that anyone DARE question him. “They’re trying to DESTROY ME.”

    Just so ugly.

After this gross governmental display of white male privilege, misogyny and rape denial, I can only wish that the women of this country would assume governance. After Cry-Baby-Brett’s tempi-tantrums, perhaps.

Just for the benefit of a non-USA citizen, who is the last guy? I know about Trump and Kavanaugh, but the bottom one has me stumped.

That’s Lindsey Graham, one of the Senate-trolls South Carolina provided for our legislative bridges.

  8. Kamaka says

Lindsey Graham has done much to make the World sad :/

Except for the dead people. They can’t be sad anymore.

  9. DonDueed says

To be fair, it’s always possible to capture a nasty-looking frame, even of the nicest people. The real problem is that, with these particular people and their ilk, doing so is all too easy.

Kavanaugh’s oration was a so full of male privilege it ought to be spelled “testemony,” Oh, but wait; triggered, whiny snowflakes have no balls, I am told. I found it hard to make much sense of the words between the sobs, but I one message he did manage to get across is that he likes beer.

Marina Hyde’s take on on it is sidesplitting.

[W]hat you see is what you get. If this angry, aggressively maudlin guy accused of multiple sexual assaults can’t just adjudicate everything for ever, then what was even the point of the last 27 years? Who are we? Where is the justice? What was … How can … When is America?

I LIKE BEER. I STILL LIKE BEER. DO YOU LIKE BEER?

There must be a reason why so many evangelical Christians find these hideous sphincters admirable.

Not admirable, but necessary. And yes, there’s a reason: Fear.

No one cares if they’re smiling or not. Just so long as they have the electorate’s best interests at heart. And these asshats DO NOT.

Fire them all come election day!

    Kamaka @4 nailed it.

How many times did I have to watch my ex bawl his stupid eyes out just ‘cuz I called him on his behavior? How many times did he rush to intercept the police so he could be sure they heard all his lies first? Heh. I don’t even know how many times he hit me or raped me — too many to count — but through all of that, all his shitty behavior, all his lies, all his violence, somehow he managed to make it all about how he was the “real victim”.

    That’s how abusers do.

  14. Mrdead Inmypocket says

Just look at those mugs. Of course it’s what’s on the inside that counts. Overwhelming impression watching Kavanaugh’s demeanor swing from aggressive to self pity and back. I see a person who has reveled in impunity for every injustice he’s committed in this world not being handed something without question. Of course it’s ugly, very ugly.

A person who helped write legal briefs which justified torturing people turns out to be a sexual predator since his youth. Whodathunkit. On the upside, since Kavanaugh himself argued that waterboarding is an effective interrogation technique and they need answers from him…

    And then there’s THIS

  15. says

    Reagan was smarter than that.

But both the American Religious Right and the American Political Right have had enough success that they are no longer hiding what they are.

Well, the American Religious Right is getting more fervent support by smaller populations – but the leaders are getting rich with values so very, very different from the values that the Bible depicts Jesus of having.

I mean, it’s not as if you can’t find photos of them smiling online and post those, but that wouldn’t feed the hate machine.

  18. Kamaka says

    @27

Hate machine? Some conspiracy? Posting scary pictures to defame?

Make a face long enough and it sticks.
