Not quite the genius of his schoolmaster (or should that be skoolmaster) but bloody funny.

And people idiots complained to Aunty Beeb about it?!?!?!?11!?one!!

I think the Beeb’s description of this as “an affectionate portrayal of an Archbishop figure” is right on. That was, at worst, a gentle, good humoured ribbing…

This!? This? Is what got people in an uproar? Jesus Christ on a pogo-stick. Did all the complaints come from that well-hidden gem of a place Batshit-in-Woods?

Well, the Christians can’t let the Muslims have all the fun now, can they?

all those calls to the BBC and the BBC’s cowardice in handling this. Daft and harmless.

Interesting, isn’t it, that Atkinson gave some of his time to raise money to save and improve lives and one particular section of the population – the one that claims to have the one true basis for morality – condemns him and the organisation that orchestrated this huge fundraising event which has generated £75,107,851 so far.

The sketch wasn’t very funny – apart from the prayer not working gag – but it’s telling that when some people see this, juxtaposed as it was with footage of people starving to death, living in appalling conditions and being treated like they’re simply shit, their immediate reaction is to complain that an ill-defined imaginary beast might feel a bit insulted.
