No, really, I don’t like rollercoasters. Maybe it’s an acquired taste or one you need to learn young, but it’s not my fun part. I rode my first one last summer and before even considering this one I researched whether it was faster (no way!) or slower than the one in Spain. I don’t like the sudden movements, though I was not fighting unconsciousness this time as I did in Spain. It’s not like I don’t like speed as such, there’s some fast stuff i really like, just not this. So enjoy the pics from the “harbour trip” in small boats at slower than walking pace.

I took my first and my last rollercoaster ride in 1970. I had been waiting for a few years to get tall enough and that year I finally hit the mark. It was one of the old fashioned wooden coasters and it was pretty small compared to today’s leviathan’s, but I got so sick that the entire rest of the day I felt crappy. Dad threw up, I threw up and mom said ‘ I told you so.’ Nope, I said to myself, Never Again.
I don’t fell like I’m missing anything.

I have never been on a roller coaster and I’m not likely to get on one. Carousels, sure. The simple kind, not the ones with the chains and the centripetal forces. Ferris wheel, well -- a couple years ago I would have said “sure” but since we got stuck up top that one time, with two tiny and very active kids who just wanted to peek over the edge and were wondering why Mum was getting a bit stressed out, probably not. That’s when I discovered that I have a fear of wobbly, man-made heights.

I’ve never been on a rollercoaster either and I doubt I’ll ever get on one too.

Roller coasters (along with water coasters and river rapids rides) are about the only types of speed/acceleration rides I like (unless they are jerky or contain loops or corkscrews). I despise the swinging and rotating rides and I don’t want to be upside down or dropped. The wooden roller coaster at Linnanmäki in Helsinki is fairly mild (YMMV) and the smell of pine tar gives it some atmosphere.
