Jack’s Walk

The proper name for this path is the Millennial Trail, but I generally refer to it as the Drunken Forest because of all the tipsy trees growing at odd angles. They’re not all leaning in the same direction and some of them lean over so far they seem to be defying gravity. They all seem healthy and happy, though. It’s a very curious sort of place.

My grandmother’s house had many oak trees in her yard. One of them leaned over about as much as the tree in your last pic. One time, a strong thunderstorm came through and blew one of the other oak trees over, but the leaning one stood firm. I guess its roots had gotten used to the lean.

What an interesting place. I wonder if that has something to do with ground waters or the ground settling with the changes in seasons in odd little ways. The trees certainly seem to be growing well.
And I’m pretty sure Anne is correct @2. They just freeze up with eye contact. A tree doesn’t fall in the forest, it just stops dancing when you bother to look.

Now if we humans could throw wild parties like that without making huge noise…

    It’s wonderful to see these.
