    Beautiful

I have three large neglected pots in the front garden that I planted bulbs in and put in some pansy’s several years ago; two of them are now carpeted with violets. The front drive has an invasion of primroses, plus crosses, coming in from my neighbour, heart breaking ;) Some of the crosses are odd, things that look at first glance as if they will be cowslips, but which have primrose flowers, both in the normal yeallow and in a red with yellow inner ring. Primroses are rather promiscuous :)

I love violets, and it is a joy to come across them. The light in this photo is fabulous, like the violet has its very own spotlight!

The colour is gorgeous. I like the small wild violas here, they’re always fun to see especially when there are lots of them.

    Thank you!

jazzlet, I’ve let them carpet two pots in our garden too. Carpeting is something they do very well ;)

By violas I meant violets. Now, if violas would grow, not in spruce, maple and ebony trees, but as flowers the way wild violets do in some places…

In Finnish the flower violet/pansy is orvokki and the instrument viola is alttoviulu (alto violin).
