From a while back, actually, when I was still feeling well enough to shop. A new pair of Ro-Search combat boots, 8 dollars at a local thriftshop, and a set of Mondrian Composition coloured pencils, from the sale table at the bookstore. Not my fave Mondrian piece, but hey, pencils. My fave is Avond; De rode boom.

Nice!
My mother used to wear combat boots. When I was in high school some kid used that as an insult at another kid and I was going, “wait, whut? what’s wrong with that?”

Nice boots!
I remember when I was doing my military service and visited my mom’s mother-in-law (born 1919, not my grandma) wearing what was the leave and parade uniform* at the time with lace-up boots like those. She commented that she had boots just like that when she was young.

* = Gray suit pants, gray dress shirt, gray tie, gray tunic and a (surprise) gray cap. The boots and gloves were black.

Yeah, combat boots are great! Last a long time.
Raucous Indignation says
Comfortable too as I recall, although it has been a very long time since boots been on these feets.
