Marcus, stop complaining that it’s 50 and raining. Here, it’s 20F, gonna snow.

A nice icetopus,
Since Friday, it’s been quite warm here, 9 °C on Sunday and still 8 °C. Passes for a crappy summer weather (it was also rainy today) and it’s warmer than in Midsummer (which was colder than usual, granted).
Maybe we’re hogging the warm air and you get the polar air mass.
Sea water on Sunday was still cold (3 °C) from the abortive start of winter a bit over a week earlier.
I would actually prefer if the temp here dropped just a few °C. Right now we have the worst possible combination for weeks -- not freezing, but not warm either. Drizzly, wet cold weather makes it nearly impossible to make the house comfortable -- either it is cold, or it s warm but humid. If it were freezing, all the moisture in the air would finally precipitate which would make heating and breathing easier. I generally find that slight freezing is better than temps just above freezing.
Marcus Ranum says
Is that your local weather right now?! (Suppressed eeking)
kestrel says
Oh yikes. I can just about hear the snow crunching.
Caine says
Yes, it is. These were taken in Dickinson, but yeah, cold.
Marcus Ranum says
Remind me to stop complaining that it’s 50 and raining.

Ice Swimmer:
Don’t bogart the warm air! Pass it along, please.

Pretty icetopus. I have never seen one.
