There are alegedly herons at the ponds on the other end of the town, but I never had the luck to see one.

Thanks Voyager. It was a very shy bird and I took about 20 shots trying to get a facial view. Each time it saw me it moved deeper in to the reeds until this one, just before it flew off, where it had moved almost to the end of the reeds.
I have been trying for years to get a good photo of a heron, so I might be a smidge jealous, but that is an excellent picture.

To successfully shoot a heron ya need a lotta zoom.
